What is the maximum you can make without having to paying taxes?

Everybody must pay taxes if they make a sizable enough income. Typically if you have a job and you receive a wage, then chances are you make enough to be required to file and pay for your taxes. Sometimes though, it doesn't work out that way. As of 2016, the maximum amount of income you can make in a year without having to pay taxes is a salary of $10,350 per year. If you are someone who works 40 hours a week that would equal roughly $4.98 per hour. That isn't an ideal wage, but sometimes if you work a part time job and don't work many hours, you won't get much pay. So if your income is just below that mark of $10,350, then you will be exempt from filing your taxes, and you'll be able to keep every cent, except those withheld from your employer for social security and medicare purposes.
